This piece uses a big oval crystal, a rivoli and a CZ triangle along with freshwater pearls and sterling chain.

Now..on to the next one. Sure. I walk around all cranky and stuffed up and they last entirely too long. Maybe if a cold lasted a day or 2 but all week? This is for the birds.

The only good thing about this is that I'm not moving around much so I AM getting lots of crochet time in.

If anybody needs me, I'll be the red nosed, fuzzy slippered one on the sofa with a box of Kleenex in one hand and a box of Sucrets in the other. It has so many more features than my old blog.

Shoulda done this years ago! I love all the options for the side-bar.

So here I am, settling into my new digs. I'm not an avid blogger but I'll give it my best shot.

TNNA

This past weekend was incredible. I went to TNNA in Long Beach and met with Unicorn about distributing Creative Crochet Lace. They're a class act and I'm thrilled to have them represent the book to the wholesale market. I heard from the printer that the books are in transit and should be available soon! I'm also arranging book signings and workshops throughout the US this year so I'll be doing a lot of traveling which will be a new experience for me, being the homebody I am. I hate being away from the man and kids so much but I know it's time for me to do this. I'll post a schedule to my website once I get myself sorted out.

TNNA is always a great experience. I love seeing all my friends and meeting new people but this year was extraordinary.

I got to spend the weekend with my dear friend Margaret Hubert as my roommate. Just about the best part of my "new life" in the fiber world is the incredible friendships I've made online and going to conferences.

I also got to see Prudence and her wonderful husband, Stephen who came all the way from Australia! Prudence is spearheading a project for breast cancer research called The Pink Project which you can read more about if you're on Ravelry. If you scrumble, this is a wonderful way to give a little something back to help find the cure.

I met the lovely and talented Trish of Tanglewood Fiber Creations who spins the most luscious cashmere on the face of the earth. Her colorways are gorgeous and, as a matter of fact, one of my favorites is called Colorado Gorgeous. We'll see each other again at Madrona where we'll meet up with one of my other favorite people, Sheila Ernst.

The yarn companies outdid themselves this year! There are tons of new, luscious fibers I fondled for days. There was a booth showing the ultra luxurious quiviat. It's like buttah!!

I love the all the funky fibers from Ozark Handspun and Great Adirondack, both of which my friend Janice Rosema is designing for. She has some wonderful free patterns available on the Ozark site.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the Fashion Show on Friday night. Janice had a gorgeous freeform cape modeled that positively glowed. My pal Drew, The Crochet Dude, had an adorable pink crocheted cocktail dress featured. Rumor has it that it was the models' favorite and they all tried it on after the show.

There was a lot more crochet than in previous years and the trend seems to be simple shapes in lovely drapey fabrics for the spring. Lots of swing coats and kimono shapes. I also love the color trend of acidy olive-green and aubergine that predominated. (It's that green and purple thang...)

I wish I had taken pictures but you can see some on my pal Ellene's blog.

Next time I'll remember to take a camera!!

Switching Over

I'll be back in a bit.
